What we do
Advocacy
Reformation, protection from defamation, and recognition of ordinary practice.
Unorthodox reformation
Christianity in Australia is not a single voice. Reformed, Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal and Anabaptist traditions already disagree on arms, conscience and the sword. We advocate for the place of minority readings among them.
Prevention of defamation
We oppose labelling sincere believers as frauds or extremists for holding a lawful faith position openly stated, and we support members who are mocked or shamed for their beliefs.
Recognition of ordinary, unwritten practice
Many practices of our ancestors were ordinary and never codified. We seek lawful, conditioned recognition of such practice, as the law already recognises other articles of faith.
Our methods
- Submissions to parliaments and government agencies.
- Evidence and support for members' sincere religious claims.
- Public education, community service and fellowship.
The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion. Constitution, s 116. It binds the Commonwealth only; see Part VI of the legal letter.
